A home should act as a social hub for all the family. It should be a place that brings everyone together. With our busy lifestyles, that can be tricky.
However, open plan living lends itself to modern day living and by blending cooking, dining, and living spaces, it encourages interaction.
Open plan living can be a great idea if you have a smaller property as it can create more space. But it’s also fantastic for larger spaces to create a wow factor to your home.
This was certainly the case for a property in the South East. The homeowner wanted to create a large open-plan extension at the back of the property that provided a seamless connection between the different areas of the home and turned to leading South East home improvement company SEH BAC for help.
The impressive made-to-measure uPVC P-shaped conservatory was not only perfect for the large, detached property but also as a way of introducing the open plan design the homeowner wanted. It combines the long and rectangular Lean To style with a more Victorian style to maximise the space for the homeowner.
Inside, the conservatory has created two separate areas, combining a kitchen/diner and lounge to stunning effect, while a stunning set of bi-fold doors provide a seamless transition to the garden, opening the whole wall to create the illusion of even more space.
Inside, the kitchen, living room, and dining room become one expansive space, while the absence of walls creates a sense of spaciousness and helps light flow more freely throughout.
The lightweight high-performance solid roofing system, which combines large areas of glazing with solid, composite panel sections, helps light flow more freely throughout the space while helping to retain privacy. The glazing panels are also solar controlled to deflect the heat of the sun when it reaches a comfortable temperature inside.
A+ energy rated windows also help to save money on heating bills and, thanks to multi-point locking, are ultra-secure.
The homeowner said: “SEH BAC have a fantastic local reputation for home improvements, and we have friends who have had some impressive conservatories designed and built by SEHBAC in the last few years, so it was an easy decision to make.
“We visited our nearest SEH BAC showroom, and the team were fantastic, listened to what we wanted to achieve and made the whole process as easy as possible.
“The installation team were brilliant; we wanted one expansive space for a kitchen, dining and living room that could all be connected, and we are so pleased with the result.”
Steve Rawding, SEH BAC’s Sales and Marketing Director commented: “We are delighted the customer is happy with their new conservatory and our operations team have done a first-class job on the design and finish of the extension.
“At its heart is the open plan and seamless connection between the different areas within a home which the customer wanted, while it also maximises natural light and ventilation. The conservatory design has created a large open-plan extension that is both beautiful and highly functional, looks and feels like a natural extension of the property – and creates a real statement.”
