Sash Window Project: SEH BAC completes successful renovation project at Castle Hill Community Centre
Charity & Community
We have recently completed a complex installation at a local community centre, helping to give the facility a new lease of life.
Specialising in windows, doors and conservatories, we were tasked with replacing the tired timber windows of the Castle Hill Community Centre. In total, the team replaced 41 timber casement, sash and secondary-glazed windows, along with over 120 metres of guttering.
The project presented a number of challenges as the community centre is located within a conservation area. With strict renovation guidelines in place, the team at SEH BAC attended four meetings with conservation officers to prove their replacement solution was in keeping with the period design of the 19th century building.
SEH BAC suggested uPVC sliding sash windows, which are designed to stay true to the traditional design and joinery methods of original timber windows. By using modern uPVC, the community centre can effectively reduce their energy bills by improving performance and eliminating draughts and cold spots.
Garath Jones, Centre Manager at Castle Hill comments: “We want to thank SEH BAC for their fantastic work renovating Castle Hill. Our old, single-glazed windows had certainly seen better days and were contributing to our rising energy costs. The new windows not only look fantastic, but ensure we can continue to support local residents and groups for many more years to come.
“We approached a number of different companies and SEH BAC were easily head and shoulders above the rest. We were greatly impressed by their professionalism, especially as SEH BAC fully cooperated with the recommendations of the IBC Conservation officer.
“The quality of the work has been outstanding and we’re so glad we picked them. We would wholeheartedly recommend SEH BAC to both local residents and businesses.”
John Savage, Managing Director SEH BAC adds: “It’s been our great privilege to help renovate the wonderful Castle Hill Community Centre. Their team does some fantastic work within the local community, so it was a real no-brainer for us to take on the project, and to help in any way we could.
“We’ve been operating across the region for over 50 years, and we take great pride in being able to use our expertise to help homeowners and community causes complete important renovations. We’re absolutely delighted with the finished project, but most importantly, so were the Castle Hill team, which is fantastic to hear.”
Operating across the South-East, East Anglia and the Home Counties, SEH BAC was recently named Company of the Year (South-East) by the Master Window and Conservatory Installers Association (MWCIA). We also received the coveted ‘Consumer Confidence’ award from the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).
